25–>26
New to The Twenty-Fifth Year? Here’s the short cut to what makes me tick, how I feel about the world and how in the heck I got here, anyway.
Appropriate subtitles include “Favorites” and “Why People Make A Second Visit” – but as you will soon learn, I like to be different.
Once upon a time, my brother planted an idea in my mind: “Why not blog?” I had this whole degree in journalism thing down pat and I’d been reading a lot of healthy living blogs for awhile, so really, what the heck was I doing sitting on the sidelines?
Coincidentally, I was nearing my quarter century mark of making the annual trip around the sun so I decided to go with that. Behold! A blog was born.
At first it was all about running. It was new to me and the official kick off to my new year. You could find me running around Pittsburgh trying to keep from freezing my bum off on the 150 bridges linking my house to the rest of the city.
I knew I wanted to make a lot of big changes from one September to the next. So I did things like freeze my assets and drop mad dough to run 13.1 miles. I also took a break from shopping for four months.
I’ve made it clear I am a terrible cook and a food blogger I am not. I think what you’ll find here is more of a focus on the benefits of a good mental outlook.
My Twenty-Fifth Year brought me heartache that questioned my love for blogging. It made me sit up straight and listen to what was best for me. It led me to make a huge move half way across the country.
It brought a new circle of friends – BLENDS! – into my life and blessed me with one unforgettable friendship in particular.
And some might say I’m kind of funny. This year has made for a lot of funny stories, too.
I keep it real around here. I hope you can understand I have no room for anything but truth in my life.
So now I’m 26. Yeah, I know it says 25 up there. Don’t worry, I’ve got it all figured out.

I may or may not be officially addicted to your blog. Love it! Can’t wait to keep reading
