Nine Years Old

Day 125

It’s hard to believe we’ve called you a part of our family for nine years – really, it seems like you’ve been with us all along.

From your excitement every night when I walk in the door to the cute way you stretch out hogging the bed every night, you’re the best dog we could ever ask for. Thanks for the tail wagging, sloppy kisses, snuggling, and yes, even the barking.

Happy Birthday buddy.

Love,

Sissy

Day Eighty-Four

The concept of dog runs in cities has always fascinated me. Having always lived in an area where there was ample space if I chose to have a pet, I tend to forget in places like New York and Philadelphia, that luxury is not afforded to pet owners. I loved taking some time out of a crazy day to just watch these pups play, run and socialize with one another. At times, their interactions mimic that of people and I just have to laugh. Plus, I’m a sucker for any breed with a pug nose.

My studio has a Facebook page now! Head on over and give us a like for more photography goodness!

Day Sixty

I think we should all take a lesson from our dogs. Or at least mine, anyway. For not knowing a lick about time, that creature has quite the impressive internal clock. Every morning at 7:30, he’s got me up  and every evening he knows exactly when it’s time to go on a walk – or as we have to spell it out in our house – a W-A-L-K. If the word “walk” is even mentioned, he goes nuts. Same thing for lacing up shoes or getting within five feet of where we keep his leash. Total flip out. I’m talking whining, bouncing around, pitiful yelps and the most excited animal you’ve ever seen.

The weather continues to be gorgeous here and last night’s walk was flawlessly beautiful. Well, unless you count when the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel passed us and I had to hold my 90-pound friend back from over-gesticulating his desire to say hello.

We made a nice long loop while I sang along to the John Mayer station on Pandora. That’s another thing I love about my iPhone. I’m sure I could have done the same on my Blackberry, but it probably would have slowed down to dial-up speed and drained the battery after two songs.

When we got home, the pup had his celebratory chewy and, just like clockwork, settled in for the night. I proceeded to stay up past midnight working on being the best consumer of social media possible. And let me just tell you – 7:30 came around real quick.

Day Forty-One

I’m too tired from staying up until 2 a.m. watching Glee and random YouTube videos. Here’s my default picture of my dog. I mean, you can’t not smile at the determination on his face. This was before the dreaded word, “vet” was spoken this morning. After that, it was all shaking and whining.
